Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) is once again pleased to be a finalist in the Education and Training Category at this year’s New South Wales (NSW) Tourism Awards in the Tourism Education and Training category. The School won the Gold award last year and will be in the running to receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze award at the Awards Gala Event on 19 November 2010, at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse in Parramatta.

The NSW Tourism Awards, established to recognise and celebrate the New South Wales tourism industry and its diverse range of businesses and individuals that supports this industry, is one of the most prestigious event on the NSW tourism calendar. According to the Tourism Industry Council NSW, “the NSW tourism industry is the largest and most diverse of all Australian States. Worth more than $20 Billion a year and 180,000 jobs, tourism is increasingly becoming one of the most important sectors of the NSW economy.”

The NSW Tourism Awards comprises of a total of 30 categories, and receiving an award is considered one of the highest accolades in the industry. This year BMIHMS will be up against three very strong and reputable contenders from across the State.

Participating in the awards for the second time, BMIHMS is proud to be entered as a finalist and last year, went on to win the Education and Training award at the Qantas Australian Tourism awards. This marks its success as a hospitality management education provider in NSW and nationally.
