音乐……沟通心灵的桥梁

       今天早上我在去悉尼蓝山国际酒店管理学院的路上，恰巧通过我的iPod音乐播放器听到了英式摇滚乐队绿洲（Oasis）的歌曲“Wonderwall”。三分钟的旋律让我回想起，两年前我出发去瑞士之前我的朋友一起演奏了这首歌曲。回忆起这样的时刻，让我们无论距离远近和地域差异都想要维持生活中这种重要的联系。
       音乐的节奏感如何影响我们的大脑，为什么音乐像寄生虫一样在你的大脑中挥之不去？至今仍然没有科学解释。为什么一定的曲调会使我们感到悲伤或高兴？你们中有多少人无论何时写作业或专注于任何工作都需要戴上耳机听音乐？
国际学习不仅增加了我的学术知识，而且激发了我的创造性兴趣，尤其是对音乐的兴趣。新的城市带来新的影响。音乐通过分享将不同文化的人联系在一起。
      音乐是联系不同地域不同文化人民的很棒的工具之一。澳大利亚是一个多元文化的国家，音乐活动是人们聚集在一起的一个原因，大家共同享受美妙的声音、节奏和旋律。
      来到澳大利亚，我对这里的音乐生活和悉尼本身的音乐趋势一无所知。音乐中心可以大到国际DJ和艺术家主持的大型高档俱乐部，也可以小到当地音乐天才聚集的隐秘的场所。每个人都能找到适合自己音乐品味的欣赏音乐的地方。我已经找到几个适合自己的欣赏现场音乐的好地方。

      这一著名夜间俱乐部，是唯一一家经常聚集玩浩室舞曲（house）、电子音乐（electro）、tech、party mash-up、嘻哈音乐（hip-hop）和breaks风格音乐的欧美国际艺术家的俱乐部。高品质音乐系统和地下场所，再加上温馨的氛围，使这家俱乐部非常适合了内行音乐爱好者。

      受纽约Andy Warhols Factory启发，悉尼艺术工厂（OAF，Oxford Art Factory）表演者的主要是海外和当地艺术家，OAF为他们提供了展现音乐天赋的高端平台。OAF会聚了不同音乐风格的知名音乐家，一个周末吸引了多至4500名游客。

       澳大利亚的天气非常棒。一整年都要开办户外音乐节，全世界的音乐爱好者会聚于此。2012年悉尼音乐节包括：Field Day、未来音乐节（Future Music Festival）、Splendour in the Grass、Park life、The Big Day Out、克里姆菲尔德音乐节（Creamfields），还有即将来临的11月Stereosonic音乐节。Stereosonic音乐节会在最大的城市连续进行5天，期间会看到很多国际艺术家，如Tiesto、Avicii、Martin Solveig、Major Lazer等。

      The Upstairs Beresford位于悉尼萨里山（Surry Hills）与众不同的郊区之一，它在纽约最好的现场音乐场所的启发下，为顾客提供混杂着鼓声、低音吉他声、爵士乐、布鲁斯音乐、瑞格舞曲和各种类型音乐的美妙演奏会。
本周六，我有机会观看Battleship乐队激情四射和独特的音乐演奏。

Music . . . connecting people

This morning on my way to ‘uni’ at the Blue Mountains Hotel Management School in Sydney I happen upon via my iPod the song ‘Wonderwall’ by the Brit pop band Oasis. Three minutes of this tune took me back when few of my friends were performing it couple of years ago right before I was leaving to Switzerland. Remembering such moments helps us to keep ties with important relationships we have in life, regardless of distance and location . . . 

There is still no scientific explanation of how beats influence on our brain, why often songs stuck in your head and like worms will not leave? Why certain tracks make us cry or laugh? And how many of you need the headphones plugged in whenever you write assignments or concentrate on any work?

International study adds not just to my academic learning but appeals to my creative interests and specifically  in music. A new city brings new influences. Music unites human beings regardless of culture through shareing.

Certainly music is one of the great tools to keep people connected regardless of distance and differences in culture. Since Australia is so diverse, musical events and venues are the places where everyone gathers for one reason – enjoy a great sound, beats and melodies.

Coming to Australia, I had absolutely no perception of music life here and what trendy translates to in Sydney itself. The music hubs range from the large upscale clubs that hosts international DJs and artists to hidden away spots where local talents can be witnessed. Everyone can find a venue to her/his own musical taste. Seeking for the places to enjoy live performances, I have fall in with several ones.

The renowned nightclub, one of the only place that regularly hosts international artists from Europe and US playing house, electro, tech, party mash-up, hip-hop and breaks. Australia has great weather.As such holds open-air festivals all year round, gathering music lovers worldwide. Sydney Festival lists for 2012 includes Field Day, Future Music Festival, Splendour in the Grass, Park life, The Big Day Out, Creamfields and the exciting coming up in November Stereosonic. Continuing for 5 days in the biggest cities, Stereosonic line up spans with global artists like Tiesto, Avicii, Martin Solveig, Major Lazer and many others.
