Every year the leaders of hospitality businesses, tourism and visitor attractions gather at the Blue Mountains Lithgow and Oberon Tourism Awards of Excellence. The awards night is a chance for all of the professionals involved in tourism to recognise excellence in the Blue Mountains region.

Held at the Lithgow Civic Ballroom and hosted by Mr. Randall Walker, Chairman of Blue Mountains Lithgow and Oberon Tourism, the awards included categories such as Major Tourist Attractions, Sustainable Tourism, Young Achiever in Tourism and Heritage and Cultural Tourism.
蓝山Lithgow和Oberon旅游奖颁奖典礼由主席Randall Walker先生主持，在Lithgow的城市大宴会厅举行，奖项包括最佳旅游胜地，可持续旅游发展，旅游业年轻成功者和旅游业遗产及文化。
Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) won in two categories at this year’s awards including the award for Tourism Education and Training as well as Outstanding Contribution to Tourism for Mr. Guy Bentley, CEO of BMIHMS. Mr. Jim Hopwood, BMIHMS Dean, was at the awards night and said “this is a great honour to win in two categories and it is a pleasure to be in such distinguished company.”

“The School has continued to work hard to ensure it remains one of the leading hotel schools in the Australia and the Asia Pacific region. I’m sure Mr. Bentley is very pleased to have received this award, especially after recently receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Accommodation Association of Australia.

Themed a ‘night of stars’ the evening included a three-course dinner with local food and wine producers providing some of their fare. One of the highlights was the aerial fireworks display as guests arrived. Mr. Hopwood continued “it really is great to see so many businesses getting behind Blue Mountains Lithgow and Oberon Tourism and being able to showcase why this region is one of Australia’s biggest tourist attractions.”
