尽管我非常想去印度尼西亚，但是很不幸我不能成行。我们有一部分成功校友来自印尼，雅加达（Jakarta）的酒店行业为我们的毕业生提供了诸多就业机会。最近，我通过邮件联系上了Tobias Pratama Susanto，我们上次通信的时候，他正在印尼雅加达凯宾斯基酒店（Hotel Indonesia Kempinski）工作。
Tobias之前曾在酒店宴会和餐饮部门担任销售专员，他非常享受这份工作。随后听说他的职业生涯经历了极大的转型，转入非盈利行业。目前，他担任普特拉善普尔纳基金会（Putera Sampoerna Foundation）企业渠道官。
Tobias仍然在雅加达工作，新的职责主要集中在教育方面。每年，上百万的印度尼西亚青少年（高中生）由于经济原因而被迫退学，他们因为要自己支持自己或整个家庭，而放弃了接受适当教育的机会。
普特拉善普尔纳基金会（Putera Sampoerna Foundation）是一个从事教育领域的社会企业组织。他们接收印尼各地的贫困学生，为其提供全额奖学金（包括住宿、食物、书籍、制服等费用）就读善普尔纳学院（Sampoerna Academy），学习2个课程（国家课程和剑桥国际中学教育普通证书课程Cambridge IGCSE）。Tobias与捐助者密切合作：政府、企业、零售商以及个人捐赠者。
作为渠道官，Tobias需要寻找或举办能够募捐到资金的活动来帮助这些学生。收到校友的邮件让人感觉无比温暖，他们在蓝山国际酒店管理学院的学到的知识将不断指导他们度过职业生涯中诸如此类的巨大挑战。
我祝愿Tobias在新的职业方向中一切顺利，进而提升他的家乡印尼的教育水平。

IndonesianAlumni, Tobias Pratama Susanto making a difference

Unfortunately I do not manage to travel to Indonesia as much as I would liketo. Many of our successful alumni have originated from Indonesia. Thehospitality industry in Jakartaalone provides many opportunities for our graduates. I recently caught up viaemail with Tobias Pratama Susanto who was working when we were last incorrespondence at the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta.
Tobias worked as a Sales Executive for the Banquet and Catering Departmentand has been enjoying his role. Having said that he has taken a sharp turn inhis career and has moved into the not for profit industry and is now theCorporate Channel Officer at Putera Sampoerna Foundation.
Still based in Jakarta,Tobias’s new role focuses on education. Every year, millions of Indonesianteenagers (high school students) are forced to drop out of school due tofinancial reasons – either to support themselves or the whole families thusending their chances for a proper education.
PuteraSampoerna Foundation is a social business organisationworking in the field of education. They take on underprivileged students fromvarious area in Indonesiaand placed them at Sampoerna Academy with a fullscholarship (including dormitory, food, books, uniform, etc.) and providingthem with a dual curriculum (National and Cambridge IGCSE). Tobias worksclosely with contributors; government, corporates, retails and individualdonors.
As Channel Officer, Tobias finds or creates events thatgenerate funds to help these students. It is heart warming to receive emailsfrom Alumni adamant that their studies at Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School continue to guidethem through their careers and such great challenges.
I wish Tobias all the best in his new direction and inturn raising the level of education in his home country of Indonesia.
