Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School in Leura, Australia opened its doors in 1991 and has recently been ranked the number 1 international hotel management school in Australasia*. To continue managing its strong expansion plan, BMIHMS Ltd will be opening a new Sydney campus and restructuring its undergraduate and postgraduate programs to optimise its campus facilities. Undergraduate programs will run at the Leura campus and at the Sydney campus under the Blue Mountains brand while the Canberra campus will become the campus for its AIHS postgraduate programs and an expanded centre of training with the Hotel Kurrajong.

The school continues to respond to industry demand and innovates in its methods of delivery. “Demand for our hospitality graduates around the world continues to be very strong and we have an ambitious plan for the future. Opening a new campus in Sydney will make us an even more attractive proposition for prospective students and will allow us to better satisfy the current and future demand of Bachelor degree students” said Guy Bentley, CEO of BMIHMS Ltd.

Opening in late September 2011 the new campus will be located in the heart of Sydney CBD in front of Town Hall and next to transport, residential as well as entertainment facilities. Students will do the first two years of their Bachelor degree in the residential Leura campus in the Blue Mountains allowing them to focus on the applied learning part of the program, and will then move to Sydney for the last year of their studies to focus on the executive management/business part of their degree. This pathway will facilitate and improve student development and is strongly supported by the hospitality industry.
