欢迎阅读我的第四篇博客！这次我将介绍我最喜欢的一位校友之一，Mandy Posetti.Mandy女士。她的职业生涯充分展示了获得商务学位的各种益处……你能在各种商务领域工作，Mandy已经决定从事人力资源管理工作。
Mandy参与了GPP项目，一毕业她就以万豪国际（Marriott International）行政毕业生的身份开始了职业生涯，随后担任万豪人力资源部主任。
2011年6月，Mandy转到喜达屋（Starwood）工作。2005年她在喜达屋完成了自己的第一份行业实习，所以再次到喜达屋工作让她感觉挺有趣的，这也充分展示了学生在进行行业实习时所能建立的人际关系网。你永远也不知道自己会前往何方！Mandy刚开始在悉尼喜来登福朋酒店（Four Points by Sheraton Sydney）担任培训经理。喜来登福朋酒店是悉尼最大的酒店，拥有630间客房。Mandy目前的工作对福朋酒店和喜达屋酒店的成功和发展至关重要。她竟然在如此短的时间内获得了巨大的职业发展！
所以，所有这些是如何发生的呢？Mandy从战略上选择了蓝山。她喜欢与人打交道，这激发了她对酒店行业的兴趣，并且她意识到商务资格会帮助她达到职业目标。她在学校接受的教育、通过行业实习进行的理论和实践的相结合，为她担任目前的职位提供了明显的优势。
Mandy经常将自己的成功归功于学校的职业发展部所给予的指导，现在她仍然和职业发展部保持着联系。
本月，Mandy作为客座讲师“重返校园”，在我们的悉尼校区开展讲座。
Mandy为硕士学生带来了“通过树立个人品牌形象建立人际关系网”的讲座，讨论运用各种社会媒体例如脸谱（Facebook）、推特（Twitter）和Linkedin作为找工作和建立关系的工具的重要性。
这个主题对于每一个正在发展自己职业生涯的人来说都非常现实、有趣和典型。我认为学生并没有意识到个人品牌形象的作用和潜力，尤其是通过一种他们认为的在很大程度上只是为了娱乐的工具发挥作用。学生对如何利用社会媒体建立人际关系非常感兴趣并积极参与其中，建立个人品牌形象与合适的组织建立联系，发展职业生涯。

Welcome to my fourth blog! This time I introduce one of my favourite Alumni, Ms Mandy Posetti.Mandy’s career path thus far highlights the benefits of studying a Business degree…you can work in various business disciplines and Mandy has decided to pursue a career in Human Resources Management.
Mandy was in the GPP program (take a look here to find out about GPP) and on graduation her career started as an Executive Graduate with Marriott International, before taking on the role of Human Resources Executive at Courtyard by Marriott.
Mandy then moved to Starwood in June 2011. This is interesting as she actually completed her first industry placement with Starwood in 2005…so this shows how students can build their networks while on IP. You never know where it may lead! For Starwood Mandy started at Four Points by Sheraton Sydney as the Recruitment and Training Manager. Four Points by Sheraton Sydney is Sydney’s largest hotel with 630 rooms her current role is vital to the success and growth of Four Points and Starwood. Great career progression in such a short time!
So how did it all start? Mandy chose Blue Mountains strategically. She enjoyed working with people and this sparked her interest in the Hospitality Industry and realised that a business qualification would help her achieve her career aspirations. The education she received at the School; a combination of academic and practical combined with Industry experience through internships or industry placement (IP) have given her a distinct advantage in her current role.
Mandy regularly attributes her success to the mentorship and guidance provided by the Career Development Department of the School with whom she still remains in regular contact.
This month, Mandy came ‘back to school’ as a guest lecturer and spoke at our Sydney Campus.
Addressing our Masters students on ‘Networking, Through Building a Personal Brand Image”, Mandy discussed the protocols and importance of utilising various social media avenues such as Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin as a job searching and relationship building tool.
The subject is topical, interesting, and quintessential to anyone embarking or building their career. I don’t think students realised the potential and power of personal brand image, especially through the use of a tool that they considered to be largely for fun. Students were interested and engaged in the “how to” of using social media to build relationships and connected with the concept of personal brand image to align with the right organisations and build a career.
